This week (and maybe next) we’ll be taking a break in between campaigns. Which means that I get another chance to create some more short stories! You may remember interludes 1 and 2 from a couple of months ago and this next one is going to be continuing the story. I’ve had a bit of help with the story this time, letting me spend a lot of time making the production sound awesome. Hope you enjoy this episode, and be assured we’ll be finishing this story soon.

During our play I like to keep campaign notes on a program called Grafio which is basically a charting program. On my iPad it makes it really easy to keep track of where we are, where we’ve been and what we need to do. Here is what my notes looked like at the end of session 1.
Eclipse Phase is a pen & paper roleplaying game of post-apocalyptic transhuman conspiracy and horror.
Players take part in a cross-faction secret network dubbed Firewall that is dedicated to counteracting existential risk and threats to the existence of transhumanity, whether they be biowar plagues, self-replicating nanoswarms, nuclear proliferation, terrorists with WMDs, net-breaking computer attacks, rogue AIs, alien encounters, or anything else that could drive an already decimated transhumanity to extinction.
That is a copy pasta from the game website. I like to think of Role Playing Games as collaborative story telling. One person is in charge and the players contribute to the story. Of course adding some chanced based story flow with dice rolls.
Eclipse Phase appeals to me as I have been and still am an avid fan of Fantasy and Science Fiction. The universe of Eclipse Phase is so detailed and the mechanics of dice rolling and game play is well thought out. You can loose yourself just reading the core rule book.
If you’re at all interested in a post apocalyptic future in space then stay tuned for the podcast post coming up shortly.
